Thomas Cooney, PT, MS

Thomas M. Cooney, DPT, NSCA-PT, is an Ithaca College, Russell Sage College and Sage Colleges graduate. He is the co-owner of Physical Therapy Associates of Schenectady, P.C. and offers over 27 years of clinical experience in areas including industrial rehabilitation, acute care, general physical therapy and orthopedics. He has extensive continuing education in orthopedic physical therapy, functional capacity evaluations and health care administration. He currently presents education and training programs to area businesses and is involved in all aspects of return to work management. Tom treats patients at the Pittsfield office. When not working in the clinic he is involved with administration duties for Physical Therapy Associates along with working as an adjunct professor teaching a business administration leadership course for physical therapists at The Sage Colleges as an adjunct professor.

Carol Bentz-Reimbursement Specialist
I have worked in a physical therapy office since 1997. Over the past ten years some of my responsibilities have included billing, collections, transcription, patient service, insurance verification and most recently, handling the computerized checkbook responsibilities.

Shenna Burke, PTA, CMT

I graduated in 2001 from Berkshire Community College with an associates degree in science. I later went on to receive my massage therapist certification at BCC in 2003. I am also certified in beginner mat pilates and pre & post natal pilates. In my free time I enjoy running, hiking, rollerblading and watching the Red Sox.

Brian Duquette, PT, MS

I worked for P.T. Associates from 2001 until 2006 in the Schenectady office and as a manager at the Niskayuna and Clifton Park offices. I moved back to the Berkshires after getting married in 2006 and took a job at Berkshire Medical Center. I re-joined P.T. Associates in October of 2007 at the Pittsfield office. I have Ergonomic certification in Functional Capacity Evaluations and have taken several continuing educational courses in orthopedic, sports, and spine related injuries. I coach football at the high school level and basketball at the junior high school level.

Kathleen Nolan -

Office Manager
Kathleen Nolan earned a bachelor of arts degree in education from the University of Detroit. She later received a two year degree in business from Berkshire Community College in Pittsfield, MA while raising three sons. I have developed an interest in art and began studying with different instructions. I enter shows and exhibits her work in various venues. Travel, theatre and art are some of her interests.

Stephanie Merwin PT

I graduated from Northeastern University in Boston in 1999. I have worked in a variety of private practice clinics through my co-op and clinical experiences at Northeastern.
I have practiced in outpatient orthopedics for the last eight years, treating a variety of orthopedic conditions. My continued education has focused on advanced mobilization techniques for the shoulder and spine as well as ergonomic and worksite evaluation training.
I enjoy hiking, photography and spending time with my family in my free time.

Alayne Glass-PT

Alayne graduated from Russell Sage College in 1983 with a bachelor of science degree in physical therapy. She has attended continuing education courses in orthopedics, manual therapy, including joint and nerve mobilizations, and specialty courses for headaches, balance, functional mobility and medically complex patients. Currently she is treating in the Lee and Pittsfield offices. She specializes in the evaluation and treatment of musculoskeletal pain with a special interest in chronic neck, back and headache pain.
Alayne also has experience in nursing home, hospital and home care physical therapy. She loves water sports, beaches and has taught swimming including adapting strokes for disabilities.
