Ergonomics/Return to Work Facility
Ergonomics
can be defined as the relationship between the worker, the work
environment and the work that needs to be performed. Our Ergonomic
consultation services can assist your business to improve this “fit” and
to optimize productivity while maintaining or improving the well being
of your workforce.
Identifying injury risks in the workplace related to
the work environment, workstation design, worker habit or specific job
tasks through job analysis, is the first step to reducing the
musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) often associated with work-related
activity. Our experienced Physical Therapists can provide
recommendations to both employers and employees to reduce strain,
improve work postures, modify tools and equipment, create rotation
schedules, and improve productivity and worker comfort. Physical
Therapist Consultants can become a valuable part of your employee health
and safety teams to help you promote a more proactive approach to
reducing work-related injuries.
Injury prevention and management is key to controlling
costs associated with work-related injuries. In addition to ergonomic
services, our Physical Therapists can help you manage musculoskeletal
injuries to keep employees working, reduce restrictions and lost time,
and insure the earliest possible return to work following injury or
illness. Identification of early warning signs and early intervention
can reduce the severity of musculoskeletal symptoms to insure they do
not go on to become injuries. We can also provide screening and work
conditioning programs for new employees to insure their physical
abilities match the job tasks you will be asking them to perform.
